Here's what Justin has been enjoying for the past couple weeks/months

Music

- DJ mixes: all the internet kids want to be a DJ right now and fuck it I'm one of them. I don't necessarily want to buy turntables or whatnot, but it'd be nice to have a seamless stream of music playing. Favorites: DJ Benzi's Get Right Radio series, Mark Ronson's Essential Mix (mp3).

- Daft Punk Alive 2007: the best Daft Punk mixtape you can't make for yourself. Funk+Disco+House+Pop song structure+Arena Rock Spectacle = awesome. Favorites: Harder Better Faster Stronger/Around the World (mp3)



- Kenna: I think he's an African or something, but he has pretty good hooks on some spaced out Neptunes beats. All around good pop record. Favorites: Out of Control, Say Goodbye to Love (mp3)

- Britney Spears: some questionable samples, but all around a very strong effort. All dance-pop where she sounds like a robot. I read an article noting how this album is pretty much untourable because her voice is so heavily filtered through all kinds of effects. I wasn't aware she sang live in the first place. Favorites: none particularly, but it's not as bad as you'd think.

- Freeway: there are many reasons to not listen to Freeway, him being an ugly black guy with one of those scary Muslim (suicide bomber) beards at the top of my list. Good thing I'm not superficial like that. His new album Free At Last is heavy on soul beats that reminisce Jay-Z's Blueprint. Very listenable through the entire disc which is something that never happens in rap music. Favorites: This Can't Be Real, Take it to the Top (ft. 50 Cent) (mp3)

- Spank Rock: scrawny back hipster that spits the most misogynistic shit your ears will hear. Favorites: Loose, B-O-O-T-A-Y

- Cowboys football: shit we look good, even with different mistakes, I feel extremely confident about this team. Super Bowl, bitch.

- Dirty Sexy Money: people with money > people without money. I'm not sure if that's entirely true for all subjects, but in TV land it sure is.

- Gossip Girl: 'what a faggot.' All I'm saying is dudes out there will not be hating if they are forced to watch by their girlfriend. The girls are absolutely smoking hot, and there's the biggest piece of jailbait I've come across on television. The show is basically the OC in NY and if you'll remember, the OC was awesome the first season. Photogenic rich people backstabbing each other is some good shit.


Guess which one is 14.

- Other usuals like The Office, 30 Rock, Always Sunny In Philadelphia have had strong seasons so far. Dayman/Nightman and Greenman being the best part of Always Sunny. I also enjoy the Hills which has been thoroughly mediocre/awesome as always. There's no distinction between good and bad reality TV is there?

Internets

- David Choe's Thumbs Up America on vbs.tv: David Choe is a bad ass Korean artist that is also kind of crazy, which makes perfect sense cause all Koreans are fucked up in the head. Vice decided to send him and his cousin Harry across America hitchhiking only. They're on season two now but you'll want to watch all of them if you start one.



- Kanye West's Blog: up until his mother died, Kanye posted multiple times a day. Mostly it was just him copying and pasting shit he thought was cool from streetwear and design blogs. Nonetheless it was still cool to see him get so into sharing himself with all of the fans.

- Danpat:

more here, and corny white girls in general.

- All my other usual daily stops: superfuture, nah right, BBV4L, honeyee, the fader among tons more.

Clothes

- Black: everybody looks good in black. There is pretty much no way to fuck up black. It might look kind of drab but honestly drab is better than looking like someone projectile vomited a box of crayons on you.

- Suits: suits will always look cool as long as they fit properly. Partying in formalwear makes everybody feel and look like a bad ass.

Proof:


- Clot Royale Silk Western shirt: only in red. Large majority of Clot's stuff is horrendous and sells out purely on hype and Edison Chen, but this time it's legit. Not worth retail nor the resell prices of course.
